500 lost DUI cases

This officer has failed to follow the proper procedures while administering 500 sobriety tests during DUI stops, and the consequences are severe. 50 cases have already been dropped by prosecutors in which he was the arresting officer.
Among the 500 cases this officer failed to explain a suspect of DUI his rights to refuse the tests and he did not observed the suspect for the required 20 minutes before executing the exam.
More that 700 arrests were made by the officer and ironically he was even honored twice by a the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists for having more DUI cases than any other officer on that state.
The officer was already suspended for one day and is currently working on a desk indefinitely but the DUI cases keep getting dropped because one of the most crucial aspects of investigation is the officers own testimony and in this case the officers credibility and integrity have been damaged severely.
Most DUI attorneys are now focusing on raising this aspect to exponent of being able to defend their clients. If you’ve been a victim of this behavior when you were arrested for DUI make sure you get a good lawyer who can explore this part of the case.
